Poised for Precision

A Deliberate Investment in Craftsmanship, Care, and Capability

Hinckley’s level of service is anchored in a growing network of world-class service yards. At the helm of this evolution is Hinckley Chief Development Officer Peter Clark, who, throughout his remarkable career, has shaped and reshaped more boatyards than likely anyone else in the industry. Every new facility build and upgrade bears his imprint—a reflection of his commitment to creating spaces where both the boats and the people who care for them can thrive. “We lead with our facilities,” Clark explains. “And by leading with facilities, you create an environment where the boats are stored and serviced in the best possible way—and our team can reach its full potential.”

That philosophy was put to action last summer in Hinckley’s flagship yard in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. “We cleaned out every building, vacuumed every surface, and painted every interior white,” Clark says. “It sounds simple, but it looks like a brand-new yard. The result isn’t just a cleaner facility—it’s also a sense of pride.”

This pride has been the brand’s common denominator since Henry Hinckley established the company in 1928. Today along the east coast—from Portsmouth to Stuart, Florida—Hinckley Yacht Services is proof of that level of care and commitment. Hinckley continues to deeply invest in infrastructure that enhances both the customer experience and the employee’s well-being. Case in point: Stuart’s new Category 5-rated storage facilities are the focal point of the Florida yard’s powerhouse status. “It’s a beautiful building,” says Clark, adding that plans are underway to connect spaces, streamline workflows, and propel what he calls a “true center of excellence” for service, repair, and employment.

“Our team of best-in-class technicians deserve the finest facilities,” he says. “Premier quality and craftsmanship can be directly correlated to the physical environment where the work is done. That’s how we attract and retain the top talent in the business.”

What’s more, an exceptional standard of excellence extends far beyond Hinckley’s own fleet. “It’s a misnomer that only Hinckleys get serviced at Hinckley,” Clark notes. “Whether it’s a Hinckley, a Nordhavn, or a Chris-Craft, it’s all predicated on service, and that separates us from other players in the industry.”

We’re catering to boaters of all brands who understand and value high-touch care. Service is our ultimate amenity.

From the refreshed yard in Portsmouth to best-in-class facilities in Stuart, ongoing improvements are part of a strategy to be the best yacht services provider—not the biggest. Hinckley recently acquired two new facilities in the Chesapeake region, and is setting its sights on key boating markets like the Carolinas, Michigan, and the West Coast.

Our goal is to establish a network of premier service, storage, and refit facilities across the U.S.—from the Pacific Northwest to the Southeast Atlantic,” Clark adds. “We need to be wherever our customers are, providing full turnkey care and ensuring every owner feels completely satisfied.”
