DASHER, THE ORIGINAL PICNIC BOAT
It’s not every day that a boat so rare appears on the brokerage market. What’s so unique about this 1994 green-hulled Hinckley? For one, Dasher is hull #1 of the Hinckley Picnic Boat, the boat that transformed the way in which we used our time on the water.
Secondly, to appeal to the boaters in Maine with waterfront homes and shallow depth at their docks, the new concept boat was powered by a water-jet drive. A highly unorthodox solution that had never been done successfully by any other manufacturer.
An incredibly smooth ride, ability to dock even at low tide, and the stunning looks of the Hinckley Picnic Boat commanded attention. As she was paraded around Southwest Harbor offering rides to anyone with interest, the Hinckley Picnic Boat quickly became the boat to have.
