Going Slow is No Picnic (Boat)

Meet the fastest Picnic Boat®. Ever.

For the last few years, the Picnic Boat® MKIII has been making waves on waters near and far. However, we’re especially smitten with our latest delivery, Fly Away. Fresh off the shop floor, this distinct beauty traded in the standard Yanmar 8LV 370hp engines for two D6 Volvo 435hp. This customization allows her to reach amazing speeds of 40+ knots—and that’s with full fuel and water tanks, not to mention the two strapping men aboard!

The engine upgrades were not the only option. Fly Away flaunts a unique exterior to match her epic speeds. With a metallic black finish and crisp white deck, this particularly sexy paint job is a great reminder of all we can do here at Hinckley Yachts to tailor your boat to your taste. With modifications like these, this is not your grandpa’s Picnic Boat®.

Before heading to Nantucket for the summer, Fly Away will spend the spring in Narragansett Bay cruising all the popular haunts, such as last night’s memorable arrival of the Volvo Ocean Race in Newport! Our speedster can be seen here ushering in Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, crossing the finish line just after 10 pm on May 6th.
