Legacy is one of eight original Custom fiberglass hulls designed by Bill Tripp Jr. and built by Henry Hinckley. The B-40, as they are commonly referred, triumphs as the longest running production fiberglass sailboat in history. Between 1959 and 1991 203 hulls came from the Maine operation, across three variations of this generously proportioned design. Legacy is Hull #2.
The shallow centerboard keel is Ideal for shoal-water cruising, and Hinckley’s hearty and proven construction are well suited for coastal or blue water cruising. Tall Rig and aluminum boom were redesigned by famed naval achictect Bill Lapworth from Cal Boat fame, making this vessel truly one of a kind. As a two-owner yacht this B-40 has spent her entire life on the West Coast.
Meticulously maintained with fresh Awl-gripped decks and exterior varnish in May 2017 and fresh sails in 2016, Legacy embodies the first class attention to detail deserving of a classic yacht.
